Thank you!

Hi everyone!  As this year draws to an end, I wanted to reach out to you and say thank you.  As I reflect on what a beautiful and momentous year it has been, I continue to be grateful for each of you, because without you and your dedication to your practice, I would not be able to do what I love for a living!

I started the year hosting a wonderful weekend retreat in Fallbrook with six amazing women.  After that, I spent six weeks in Thailand, enhancing my yoga knowledge and spending two weeks traveling with my husband.  On that trip, we made the decision to find a new place where I could have a little yoga studio to hold private sessions and workshops.  As we started to find a new place, I continued my weekly classes and hosted a fun handstand workshop.  We then found a place, moved, and worked diligently to create a bright, inviting space for you to come learn and have fun.

And although all those things make the year sound totally rosy, it wasn't always perfect.  I had to deal with a medical issue while traveling in Thailand, which was challenging.  When I got back, I had to cancel both a workshop and a retreat due to low attendance.  And then I got sick in October and it took me almost two months to feel like myself again.

I say all those things not for you to feel sorry for me, but to acknowledge that even in the midst of some exciting things, life happens.  And it isn't always the way we imagine it will happen. But struggle and failure is a part of life.  And the older I get, the more I'm learning to accept that.  So despite encountering obstacles and setbacks, I choose to set my sight on what lies ahead.

And what lies ahead is exciting!  I can't wait for you to come check out my new space.  My goal is to create workshops and events that will enhance your current practice.  And if you've never been to a yoga workshop, I highly encourage you check one out!  They are a great way to delve into a topic, ask questions, and spend more time meeting other people.  Regular classes don't always allow the time for you to do those things in a meaningful way.

Also, I am so excited to have my own space to offer private sessions.  These sessions are beneficial for so many different things.  First, if you are dealing with an injury, or something doesn't feel quite right during your regular practice, I can help you explore movement patterns in common poses to assess modifications for your body.  Also, I can help you learn more challenging poses with direct feedback and one on one assistance.  Finally, I can help you  introduce a friend or family member who is hesitant to attend a public class.  Private sessions allow me to help cater a practice specifically to your needs and I love the special attention I can provide to help you feel better and move better!

In addition, I am creating more online classes, so if you are not able to get to one of my studio classes, you can still practice with me at home!  My first series will focus on joint mobility and I have some exciting ideas for other new courses that I'll hopefully be filming in the coming months.  Stay tuned for more information!

Finally, I'll be hosting a week long yoga retreat in Tuscany in the Fall of 2018.  I've learned so much from my previous retreats and am excited to give you the opportunity to explore, feel pampered, and relax.  This trip is about so much more than the physical practice of yoga, although that definitely will be a component.  It will give you a time to be introspective, to assess, and look ahead all while making friendships that will last a lifetime.

I continue to pinch myself that I get to do what I love for a living.  Yoga has been such a transformative part of my life, and my deepest hope is that, in some way, my teaching can help you explore that in your life as well.  As we start this new year, I challenge you to be open, explore, and to try new things.  You never know where that might take you!

With love,

Cara
